International operations

Savings accounts and deposits

 

Clients can open on-demand accounts or term deposits in Unicaja Banco with any currency, at the best interest rate on the market and with all types of associated banking services: cheque book, direct deposit and debit, cards, etc.

 

Loans

 

Unicaja Banco offers its clients, residents and non-residents, the possibility of taking out a personal loan or mortgage in any currency traded in the Spanish foreign exchange market.

 

Currency exchange

 

At Unicaja Banco, customers can buy and sell banknotes in any foreign currency quoted on the Spanish currency market at the best market prices. Take a look at the quotes for the day.

 

Transfers

 

This is the fastest and most affordable means of international payment. With more than 2,000 correspondent banks, Unicaja can send transfers to any part of the world, in any currency, and in the shortest time. In addition, the SWIFT system offers complete security in sending and receiving transfers from abroad. Funds are released for both received and issued transfers in as little time as possible. Spanish emigrants living in Europe can transfer funds to their accounts in Unicaja Banco through representative offices under very favourable conditions.

Regulations for Non-Residents

Non-resident customers, when establishing a financial relationship with Unicaja, must abide by the specific Spanish regulations for non-residents. Non-resident customers must provide the following documentation when opening an account:

 

Spanish non-residents

 

Identification

  • Photocopy of DNI, Passport or tax identification number

Residence

  • Consular certificate of non-residence issued by the Spanish Consulate of the country of residence of the non-resident in Spain (valid for 2 years).

Taxation

  • Tax return.This is a document provided by Unicaja whereby the customer declares that he or she pays taxes to the Treasury of a foreign country. Mandatory for the contracting of savings accounts and fixed term deposits (valid for 2 years)
  • Tax residence certificate (RD 1816/1991). It is a document issued by the tax authority of a foreign country that certifies that the customer complies with his or her tax obligations in that country. It is valid for one year. Mandatory for all other operations.

Foreign non-residents

 

Identification

  • Photocopy of Passport

Residence

  • Certificate of non-residence in Spain issued by the Police General Directorate (Spanish Ministry of Home Affairs). If the client is a non-resident of non-Spanish nationality, Unicaja can request this in the customer's name directly before the Spanish Ministry of Home Affairs (valid for 2 years)

Taxation
