How does the VIA-T card work?
Save time and fuel by affixing a VIA-T device onto your vehicle's windshield:
- You don't need to stop or take out your wallet.
- When you go through a toll booth, the system detects the device and automatically charges the amount due to your account.
- It is valid on all Spanish motorways.
- You can also use it on motorcycles and heavy vehicles.
- Clean the inside of the windshield with the wet wipe provided.
- Place the VIA-T device into the support and remove the adhesive paper.
- Place it at the top of the windshield near the rearview mirror, pressing it gently until it is properly affixed.

No, you cannot. The VIA-T device must be affixed to your vehicle's windshield according to the instructions provided. If that is not the case, communication between the device and the toll booth might not be established and the barrier will not be raised.
No, you don't. The VIA-T device allows you to go through the toll booth without having to stop the vehicle. You just have to slow down to the speed limit indicated on the motorway's VIA-T lane.
Upon entering the lane enabled for Tele-Tolls, the Via-T device will confirm it has been properly recognised with a single beep. You will then see the traffic light turn green and the barrier is raised.
If the VIA-T does not beep at all or you hear more than one beep, it means that it has not been read or the reading has not been done properly. Hence, the traffic light will remain red and the barrier will not be raised.
If you don't want to use VIA-T, you can remove the device from the support and keep it in the case that is provided, which prevents it from being read. Nonetheless, it is advisable not to have it in the vehicle if you don't want to use it.
In the event of any unforeseen circumstance on the motorway, you can get help from the toll station personnel.
On motorways having a closed-toll system (those where a ticket is issued upon entering) you can enter it through the VIA-T lane without having to retrieve a ticket. You must, however, use the same system to exit the motorway; that is to say, using this lane to enter and exit it.
You can apply for your VIA-T device at any Unicaja branch, where you can go without having to make a prior appointment.
